Marketer · Founder of The Thinking Class
Slow down. Think it through.
I’m Kyle. For fifteen years I’ve made ads that get about a second to earn your attention, and I still do. Alongside that, I’m building The Thinking Class, a monthly print publication of essays that land in your mailbox. It’s the opposite of an ad: ideas made to hold your attention, not grab it.
A few things I believe
-
i.
Attention is the scarcest thing you own. Spend it like money.
-
ii.
Good questions outlast good answers.
-
iii.
Some ideas need a page you can’t scroll past.
The Thinking ClassA monthly print publication
Ideas worth sitting with.
Essays printed and mailed to you every month, for people who’d rather think than scroll. They question assumptions, slow you down and reward a close read. Some are built on research. Some are just a person working something out on the page.
Hi, I’m Kyle.
I live in Hamilton, Ontario. Most mornings start with a strong coffee and a heavy workout, usually in that order. Weekends, if I’m lucky, start on the first tee.
The rest of the day, I’m usually inside an ad account. I’ve been doing it for fifteen years: writing the hooks, reading the numbers, figuring out why one ad stops a thumb and another dies in a day. In between, I build things: a publication, a few brands, and more AI tools than is probably healthy.
Whenever we can, my wife and I travel: mountain lakes in the Rockies, long walks through New York, wherever the next flight goes. Most of the photos on this page are from those trips.
I’m drawn to the questions underneath things. Why an ad works. Why a habit sticks. Why some ideas stay with you for years and most are gone by lunch. The Thinking Class is where I chase those questions in public.
By day
I run paid media on Meta and Google for brands doing $2M–$25M a year, like Rocky Mountain Soap and Stickerbeat. Fifteen years in, most of the clients I started with are still my clients today.
